Emerald Ridge’s student council will be overseeing the annual food drive this year. With this change comes a new challange for the advisories: which advisory family can come out on top?

In addition to the long-standing tradition of awarding the top three advisory turn-ins, each advisory family will compete in brackets. The brackets for the first two weeks are as follows:

Week one brackets:

DMZ (Davis, Miller [Mark], Zancanella)  vs. CWN (Cirhan, Wickett, Noll)

CHH (Connor, Hamilton, Hibbs) vs. EFM (Evans, Fidler, Mattson)

HAM (Hart, Aguilar, Malyon) vs. LLK (Lynn [Coleman], Lampert, Koch)

MDGM (Mirk, Devereux/Glenn, Miller [B]) vs. MMMF (Muehlenbruch [Jenn], Miller [L], Meuhlenbruch [Ben]/Frey)

Week two brackets:

Winner of one vs. OSG (Ogden, Swanson [E], Groce)

Winner of two vs. BLMBS (Bucklin, Leonard/Maxfield,Bates, Smyth)

Winner of three vs. OOM (Osborne, Osborne, Meyerhoff)

Winner of four vs. PMWF (Paul, McKee,Wardle/Fry)

RWF (Ramsey, Westerbur, Ferry) vs. RSB(Rowan, Shepard, Brandon)

STW (Sabin, Thun, Webb) vs. BSF (Bucklin, Swanson [C], Fox-Mullen)

MHH (Mbengue, Horton [C], Horton [Bob]) vs. KKTO (Krause/Kusche, Tavern, O’Reilly)

SMB (Susee, McMullan, Barry) vs. WBH (Waller, Brassard, Hillend-Jones)

The food drive will run through Dec. 12. Each food item has a different amount of points that will be alloted for the competition. $1 will equal two points, one can/box will equal one point, one large can will equal two points, and boxes of top ramen will equal half a point. Certain periods of the food drive will also collect other necessities, such as toiletries and gift wrap.

At the end of the food drive totals will be compared with those at Rogers High School to determin who is the King of the Cans.
